Hailey Is Amazing

Hi everyone. I just have to brag about my amazing little sister Hailey. Out of thousands of Paul Mitchell students throughout the Country and Canada, she was one of 3 that was chosen to go to the "2007 Paul Mitchell Signature Gathering" in Las Vegas. She was given a beautiful hotel suit at the Venetian I think. She was chosen based on her work in the salon, sales, and some other areas (personality had to be in there because hers is awesome!). The gathering was a week long and she was busy busy busy. The gathering is for salons around the country to come and see what is new and take classes, go to fashion shows and have a great time. Hailey and two other girls were able to spend lots of time with the "big wigs" in the business. She spent time with John Paul DeJoria, Angus Mitchell, Scott Cole and lots of other cool people. For those of you that don't know...those are the celebrities of the Salon and beauty world. She was a little scared at first because they all knew who she was. She really enjoyed Scott the best. She said it was weird because instead of handshakes, they all grab for face and kiss you on the lips to say "hi". She said all those people kissed her and it was weird!
She got job offers for Salons or schools (to be a teacher) in almost every state. The ones I can remember off the top on my head are Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, Montana, Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas, Ohio, there were lots of others but these were the ones I can remember. She was able to work with the top names and do the models' hair for a big fashion show. Then she was able to go onto the runway with the 2 other girls and all the professionals that did the hair and makeup.
She is doing so great! She wants to open her own high end salon in Eugene after developing clients. She has accepted a job offer at a great Salon in Eugene. My mom and I went over one day as "spies" to see the salon. It is super nice. I guess the lady she is working for was one of the main beauticians at the Las Vegas gathering. Her name is Carol and she gets paid to travel all around the country doing shows and teaching. I am so proud of Hailey. She is accomplishing all of her goals and I know she will go so far in life! Good job Hays! Keep it up! You are beautiful and amazing and we can't wait for you to get home.

Love,
Lindsay David and Connor
