I thought I should catch up on my blogging. I finally have time to sit down and write about what has been going on, so here we go...
This ia a picture of the 4th graders I have been working with for the school year up to now. In the program I am in at the U of O, we work for 14 weeks with one class (either K-3, or 3-5). Then we switch for 10 weeks and work with another level. Since I have been in an intermediate (4th grade) class for the last 14 weeks, I am know moving down to a primary level class. I will be working with kindergarteners. I am excited, but nervous. I have worked with 4th grade for over a year now and I love it. I just want to say that I am going to miss this class so much! Hopefully I will be able to come back to them in the spring for the last 10 weeks of full "student teaching." I realized the last day that I was in class (last week) that teaching is what I was meant to do. As I looked around the class at each student, I almost cried. I feel like they are all my children and I really do love each one of them. I hope that I have made some kind of an impact on them and pray that they will all be successful. Classes at the U of O are the same as they have always been. Liberal, and hard to sit through. I can't wait for it to all be over this summer. This summer I hope to finish school with a Masters degree and my teaching license. We are working hard to get me through school w/ no debt. It is really hard and we don't get to go out and play much, but I know it will be worth it! David and I are planning a trip to Las Vegas this summer to celebrate and to have a little time to ourselves before we have more kids. After that I think I will just substitute teach for a few years so I can stay at home!
I just had to throw in a cute picture of the baby. I decided to give him a little mohawk. Isn't it cute? Connor is doing very well. He is super happy and is starting to walk all over the place. He is a 10 month old dare devil. He doesn't have great balance, but that doesn't stop him. Once he pulls himself up onto something (the couch, wall, cupboards) he tries to walk to something else. This has led to many bruises and bumps, but he is a tough little kido. We are so blessed to have him in our lives. I am really enjoying being at home with him and am so happy that I have until January 7th to play w/ him before school starts again. I just put him down for a nap, but before I did I got to cuddle. I love when we can cuddle and he lays on my chest and I just rub his back. Things like that are irreplaceable. I love those little moments.
This is a picture of Connor and I (obviously). This was taken last Friday, the day after I had my wisdom teeth taken out. I got done with my school term on Wednesday and had my teeth pulled Thursday morning. I heard so many horror stories, but everything went so well. Better than I could have imagined. I don't look great in the picture, but I was lucky and didn't swell or bruise at all (at least that I could tell)! The first two days I had no pain at all...which was a blessing. Unfortunately, the next two weren't quite as wonderful. Because I have more room in my mouth, all my other teeth had room to move around a bit. That meant that every inch of my mouth was sore. It felt like getting braces tightened, but worse. I am just glad it is over and things went pretty well. I am not excited to get the bill thought! ;)
oh my goodness, the mohawk is soooo cute! He looks SO old, I just can't believe it. Your family picrture is really cute too! I'm glad to see cute Connor instead of a naked bum ;) hehe, j/k- it was a funny picture.
