The Joy of Parenting...And Grandparenting!

The last few weeks have brought some sunshine and we have taken advantage! We love to be outside, and Connor does too. He can play in the grass by himself forever! David decided to help Connor with his golf swing. I bought a little golf set at a garage sale last summer. The clubs have turned into some of Connor's favorite toys. That makes Grandpa Durfee very happy. Connor loves to carry his clubs all around the room or the yard. When Uncle Brent was hitting balls in the yard last week, Connor marched right up and tried to steal his golf club. He understands that he is supposed to hit the ball...he just doesn't have it all perfected yet! I guess I will give him a little time. I am glad he likes golf. It is one of my favorite sports! With school, I haven't been able to go much. I went last month for the first time in a whole year. That is so so sad! I was able to go with my dad and his buddies early on a Saturday morning. It was awesome. I have to say...I am better now than I was in high school! I actually beat 1 of dad's friends (they go every Saturday!). You know who you are...STEVE! heehee I love my dad's friends!
Speaking of golf. The Thurston Girls Golf team qualified for state again! This will be the 4th time in 5 years! I get to go up on Monday and watch! I think the Tournament is in Woodburn. My sister Kacy is on the team and my daddy is the coach! I think it will be a much needed break from school (I am taking the day off!)

Connor also likes to throw balls! His first really word (other than Momma and Da) was "ball". Now he says "A Ball!" every time he sees a ball. When he picks it up, he loves to throw it back down. He is getting really good. If we say "Throw to Daddy" he will aim towards David. "Throw to Grandpa" and my dad gets to catch. It is cool to see that he understands what we are saying! My family also likes that Connor know who they all are. He actually sayed "Kacy" today (my little sister's name). I think that is the first Aunt or Uncle's name he has sayed clearly! She was pretty excited and went and bragged to Hailey! I have silly sisters.

My Dad loves to walk Connor everywhere. They go exploring. On this particular day, they went over into the neighbor's yard to pick flowers! I think this neighbor lives in Arizona or somewhere like that for most of the year.

How Sweet! Flowers for Mommy. It was so cute. My dad had him march right in and give me the freshly picked (from the neighbors yard) flowers. And they were my favorite...Tulips! ;)

Connor is a very handsome little boy! It's good to see the golf in still running in the genes, Kadee has a good little swing herself! It's fun seeing all of my friends's little families. It feels like yesterday when we were all akward looking young girls doing stupid things and having the Jones Jones Durfee game nights!
