Connor and Cake

I sure am going to miss having Connor as my only little munchkin. He has been such a joy to have and I know he will be an amazing big brother. It is just weird to think that it won't be David, Connor and I anymore. I am so excited for Colby to join us, but it is feeling bitter sweet as his arrival draws nearer. Connor is such a sweet, caring, smart, and happy kid. We have been blessed to have him in our home for the last 2.5 years and we are excited that Heavenly Father is blessing us with another one of his spirit children.

David, Hailey and I made a cake for Colby's arrival. It was our first time using fondant...so I am very pleased with the results! We had a lot of fun making it and we used Andrea Westover's idea of Marshmellow Fondant (Thanks Andrea). We are going to bring it to the hospital for all of our guests to share! What do you think??

This morning I took Connor to work with me and after we had left Kia, Connor asked me..."Mommy, does Kia start with a C?" I told him it sure sounds like it and that he was so smart. Then he realized cake starts with a C too! How smart is that for a 2 year old?? I was amazed!

I love the cake. It is so cute. Yes, Connor is very smart for 2 1/2. Sometimes I can't believe some things that he says. I think he will be a great older brother.

How'd you get your cake to look so shiny? Mine looked a little dull with all the powdered sugar...please share! I'm glad the recipe worked for you! Good luck today!
