For Karen...

Here are a few ideas of things children can do during church or other times than may require them to stay quiet for an extended amount of time. I am not an expert, but Connor does enjoy having something to do, and he loves learning games.

1. Learning Games

2. Quiet Books

Making a quiet book is another good option. There is a good site for ideas on LDS quiet books. Click HERE

3. Sewing Pages

Sewing pages are easy to make. I have some I purchased at a garage sale, but they are simple to make on your own.

Paper:

1. Print out a picture you like (clip art, family, shape, child, etc).

2. Cut the picture to the shape you want it.

3. Laminate (you can use contact paper from the store).

4. Hole punch and attach yarn or string, or you can use shoe laces.

Wood: These can also be made out of wood in a similar way. You will need a saw to cut the shape and a drill for the holes.

4. ABC Gospel Book

Finally is a book I made for Connor. I am trying to get time to make one for Colby too. Each page of the book also has an explaination and a scripture so as kids get older they can still use the book during church or at home. He loves seeing pictures of things and people he recognizes.

Thank you soooooooo much. Now I need to get busy with Olivia's stuff. I have the fabric to make her a little bag and I'm going to get her some military sized scriptures. I want to make up some of the stuff you put on here too. They're such good ideas!!! I appreciate the time you put into this. I am so impressed that you made videos. Thanks again. :)

You are amazing Linds. These are wonderful ideas. I may try some with my kids. Last Sunday was the first Sunday in a loooonnng time they were quiet in church. It was so nice. Zachy did however keep the missionaries busy coloring with him, and the kids in the row ahead of us. But they were quiet. WOOHOO
